Agenda: Election of 2 board members and mailing list work session
At the General meeting of
the Allegany Artisans on January 13, 2007, held at the Belmont Library, Bob
Chaffe was reelected to the board of directors and Dick Lang was elected to fill
the post formerly held by Pam Delyannis. Officers chosen by the board are
Stephen Walker, president, Elaine Hardman, vice-president, Bob Chaffee,
secretary and Kay Brooks, treasurer. One new exhibitor was approved and two
exhibitors who have skipped several years were also approved by the board to
exhibit in 2007.
The board is considering two changes to the bylaws. These are:
1. That the annual meetings be changed from 3 to 2, with board members to be
elected at the last meeting of the year, rather than at the first meeting of the
year as they are currently.
2. The board voted in 2005 to limit participation in the Tour to artisans with
studios in Allegany County (with two members who are outside the county allowed
to continue to participate). Shall this rule be put into the bylaws?
3. Eliminate the Associate Membership.
Change in the bylaws require 2/3 vote by membership at a general meeting, with
the changes proposed to the membership at least 2 weeks prior to that meeting.
The board will offer specific language for these changes for vote in September.
Help is needed to enter addresses from the drawing coupons into the database for
next year’s brochure mailing. This can be done at your convenience at Steve

Dates for 2007
March 31, deadline for new member applications. The board will meet at that time
to jury new work.
May 1, Deadline for payment, photos and brochure copy.
May 30, Picnic TBA. Bring some work for photo opportunity for publicity.
September 19 Business Meeting, Belmont Library 7 PM. Brochure, poster and
placemat distribution, Vote on bylaw changes.
October 13 & 14 Studio Tour
October 24, Location TBA, Follow-up meeting. Dish to pass and business meeting.
Election of board members if the bylaw changes pass in September.
