COMMITTEES
1. PUBLICITY
Publicity chair - Accept
articles and photographs from other member/writers and acts as the mail conduit
to submit to newspapers in Western NY. Submit publicity budget to the board.
Create and sign gift certificates for the radio trivia ads. Coordinate all
publicity committee activities and expenses.
Publicity events - Get Studio Tour listed on radio and TV station event
calendars 3 weeks prior to event - insert TV and Radio names, contact info
Publicity notices - Submit Studio Tour information to Western NY newspapers for
their community events calendars 4 weeks prior to event - insert contact info
and deadlines
Publicity TV - Make contacts with a Buffalo, Rochester and Corning TV station to
get members of the Artisans on morning local news programs-insert contact info
Radio and Newspaper Publicity ads - Submit copy and makes arrangements for paid
ads on local radio and in local newspapers following budget restrictions.
Creates the radio triiva questions (make 'em easy) and brings questions and
certificates to radio stations.
Sign Chair - Maintain collection of signs. Build sandwich board structures when
needed. Collect signs from people who drop from Allegany Artisans and stores
signs until they are needed again. Get signs to new members who join the group.
Arrange with Trina Allen to tell how many numerals we need each year to change
the dates on the sign so she can cut them for us. Tell the publicity chair the
cost of numerals to have it included in publicity budget. Get those numerals to
studios prior to the show. Report to publicity chair any need for replacement or
new signs to include such needs in the budget.
Placemat Designer - Design the placemat that lists people showing both their
town and craft
2.BROCHURE
Brochure chair -

Brochure designer - Hope Zaccagni
Put brochure information into format for printer
Brochure typist - Put brochure information into google docs and proof reads from
originals with proof read assistants, checks numbers and dates in general
information
Brochure proof reader 1 & Brochure proof reader 2 - Work with Brochure typist to
proof read information and send copy to all members for final proof
3. DISTRIBUTION
General Distribution
Chair - Bill Banker - Monitor overall distribution of placemats and brochures in
various towns and through the library system. Count placemat stacks for easy
distribution. Not sure what all .....
Regional distribution chairs - Work with other members in their towns, where
applicable, to get brochures into schools, banks, restaurants or other important
distribution points. Bring placemats to restaurants or arranges for that to
happen. Stockpile extra brochures or placemats for town so others know where to
go to replenish stock.

Almond/Hornell chair
Andover/ Genesee PA chair
Belmont/Belfast chair
Allentown chair
Friendship/Cuba chair

Library Distribution chair - bundles appropriate number of brochures for each
library and labels bundle with library name and gets bundles
into the library distribution system
4. RAFFLE
Raffle Chair - Peg Cherre
- Collect all raffle tickets from members. Cut them and pulls the winner. Notify
the 4 winners and sends the certificates to them. Notify Ken Reichman or someone
else so that the winners' names may be listed on the website. Get tickets to
alphabetizer
Alphabetizer - Mary Lu Wells - Put raffle tickets into alphabetical order.
Remove duplicates. Send stack to Walker Metal Smiths.
5.MAILING LIST
Mailing List Chair
- Steve and Sue Walker - Mailing List typists - Go to Walker Metalsmiths in
November, December or January and type new names into the mailing list. Arrange
specific times with the Walkers
6. COMMUNITY WORK
Adopt a highway chair -
Bob Chaffee - Make arrangements in the spring and in the fall to clean trash
from our bit of Route 19. Collect the hard hats, vests and orange bags. Set the
meeting time and place. Get people together to help. Arrange for disposal. (I
actually don't know how this works.)
7. WEBSITE
Website Chair - Charley Orlando- Create new pages for new members and put their basic information
there. Respond to members who need changes.
Google Maps Liaison -Rick Hardman - Create the new Google map for the county.
Put the list of members and their numbered locations on the page. Program for
multiple locations. Put contact information in the pop up balloon. Create link
from balloon to the web page. Create links to and from maps and regional maps.
Center regional maps as appropriate. Know more than the average web user to make
this work.
