I have been making pots since earning a BFA degree from Alfred College of Ceramics, Alfred, NY, in 1973.  It has been a satisfying career bringing forms to life and knowing that they are enjoyed by many people.

My work has gone through quite a few changes over the years.  I started with stoneware and switched to porcelain in 1981.  Recently, I built a new gas fired kiln and have returned to making stoneware while continuing to make porcelain.  Even though I try many different techniques and ideas,  I always have strived for simplicity and elegance in my designs.  I like simple forms, clean lines, and for the most part, glazes in subtle colors without painted designs.

I like traditional Native American pots, Asian pots, Scandinavian pots, and pots with good form and glaze. They are a source of inspiration.  I have never tried to be an "academic" potter.  I just keep making pots, and they always seem to find a home.

All the dinnerware is dishwasher and microwave safe. It is meant to be used and enjoyed.

Art pottery and functional ware.  Always new and different work.  Visit a long-time, professional “Alfred” potter and enjoy great refreshments.
