Directions - From the traffic light in Belmont, turn onto South St., about 0.6 of a mile past the school, turn right on Ackerman Hill Rd. The studio driveway is on the right approximately one mile up the road at the top of a steep incline. It is the first Y intersection on the road. Signs will be located at key points.

Betsy Orlando has been making things almost all her life.  She began making dolls over 30 years ago and was mostly self-taught until discovering doll classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School and on the internet.  She has attended We Folk of Cloth in 1998, 2000. and 2002, and has taken classes from well-known doll makers such as DeeDee Triplett, Christine Shively, Barbara Willis, Jessie Chandler, Anne Hesse and Akira
Blount.


Her dolls have been exhibited across the country, and she has won a number of awards for her work.  She teaches classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School and locally, and maintains her studio in Belmont, NY.  She has been a member of the Allegany Artisans Open Studio Tour for eighteen years and is a member of the Wellsville Art Association, and the Allegany Arts Council.  She also is a member of the Central New York Dolls As Art Guild and Fiber Folk Doll Club of Rochester.
