Betsy Orlando has been
making things almost all her life.
She began making dolls over 30 years ago and was mostly
self-taught until discovering doll classes at the John C. Campbell Folk
School and on the internet. She
has attended We Folk of Cloth in 1998, 2000. and 2002, and has taken classes
from well-known doll makers such as DeeDee Triplett, Christine Shively,
Barbara Willis, Jessie Chandler, Anne Hesse and Akira
Blount.

Her dolls
have been exhibited across the country, and she has won a number of
awards for her work. She
teaches classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School and locally, and
maintains her studio in Belmont, NY.
She has been a member of the Allegany Artisans Open Studio Tour
for eighteen years and is a member of the Wellsville Art Association, and the
Allegany Arts Council. She also is a member of the Central New
York Dolls As Art Guild and Fiber Folk Doll Club of Rochester.
