Creating unique “true-to-life” wildlife mounts and acrylic paintings on handsaws, shovels, rocks, and round sawblades.
|
I started drawing at an early
age which evolved into painting in my teens. I dabbled with many different
mediums, but acrylics soon became my favorite. My main subjects are
animals, both wild and domestic. I enjoy painting on canvas, saws,
slate and even "turkey feathers". Over the years, my wildlife art
developed into taxidermy which I like to call 3-D Art. Each mount
that I re-create is like a sculpture as I start with a styrofoam base, wet
potters clay & bondo. I also build my own bases, making rocks using wood
and plaster of paris, and then painting. When I'm creating, whether
painting or doing taxidermy, my goal is always to be as "true to life as
possible". |
