Alec MacCrea Traditional Celtic carvings using a variety of woods (walnut, mahogany, hickory, elm, cherry etc). Sometimes combining two of more different kinds of wood. The work are all original designs, some are perforated in negative areas and have cloth attached (on the back of them) for contrast. Many of the carvings are based on a story or legend in Celtic, or Celtic Christian folklore. Directions - On Main Street in Alfred, turn onto Church Street (it changes to West University) to Waterwells Road, follow Waterwells Road for 1.4 miles out of town. Look for a gigantic green house and an Allegany Artisans sign.
